Nalma Onam 2026

NALMA to Celebrate Onam on September 5 at Knights of Columbus Hall The Newfoundland and Labrador Malayalee Association (NALMA) is gearing up to host its grand 2026 Onam celebration on September 5, 2026, at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The festivities will kick off from 10:00 a.m. onwards, bringing together the Malayalee community and friends of Kerala culture for a vibrant day of tradition, food, and entertainment. A key highlight of the day will be the Onasadhya, the traditional Onam vegetarian feast, served on banana leaves. Community members are eagerly looking forward to savoring this signature Kerala experience, which symbolizes unity, abundance, and cultural pride. The program line-up includes a variety of exciting activities and cultural performances, featuring a Mega Kaikottukali, an Onapattu Competition, a Kids Punchiri Competition, Cultural Programs, Fun Games, and a Photo Booth. In keeping with tradition, the iconic arrival of King Mahabali will also be staged, adding a festive and symbolic touch to the occasion. Organizers from NALMA emphasized that the 2026 celebration is more than a festival—it is an opportunity to preserve and share Kerala’s rich cultural heritage with the next generation and the wider community in Newfoundland and Labrador. Guests of all backgrounds are welcome to join the celebration!
